U.S. Unemployment Rate: See Where MA Ranks

Thursday, April 23, 2015

Over the last two years, the unemployment rate in Massachusetts has dipped nearly 2% from 6.8% in May 2013 to 4.9% last month. GoLocal Worcester and FindtheBest have put together a graph below that shows the unemployment rate dropping while jobs have increased exponentially in the Commonwealth.

SEE BELOW: Heat Map of United States Unemployment Rate

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the field of professional, scientific, and business services added 2,600 jobs over the month while trade, transportation, and utilities lost 3,200 jobs over the month.

The unemployment rate is based on a monthly sample of households and the job estimates are taken from a monthly sample survey of employers.
