GETTING OUT: The Best Hibachi Spots in Central Mass

Thursday, June 28, 2012

At Japanese hibachi restaurants, your food is prepared on a grill table right in front of you. Watching these trained chefs prepare the food is half the fun...

Whether you’re looking for family fun or a romantic night with your significant other, Japanese hibachi is a fun and unique option. Offering a great spectacle for birthday celebrations and enough distraction to take the awkwardness out of that first date, hibachi is definitely the most entertaining way to eat out. Make a reservation and get ready to see some onion volcanoes and flying vegetables.

Hirosaki Prime

Tucked away in a strip mall, it’s easy to miss Hirosaki Prime unless you’re looking for it, but this hidden gem is well worth the search. Serving up only Prime certified beef products and the highest quality ingredients available, this chic hibachi spot is a fantastic place to take a date. Hirosaki Prime boasts a full bar, unique specialty drinks and an extensive wine list on top of its impressive hibachi options. Order the swordfish, Chilean sea bass or filet mignon, and you won’t be disappointed. Though its location is suburban, its interior screams big city. Dramatic lighting and contemporary décor offer an upscale, youthful ambiance. Prices for hibachi are on the steeper side, ranging from $20 to 40, but with their prime cuts of meat, it's definitely worth it.
