Alzheimer’s Association to Offer Free Workshop in Worcester

Saturday, November 07, 2015

The Alzheimer's Association will offer a free workshop about coping with early memory loss on Tuesday, November 17 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Alzheimer's Association, located at 128 Providence Street in Worcester.

The workshop is for those that have been recently diagnoses with memory loss, their families and friends. It's designed to help participants better understand diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia, frontal temporal dementia and related disorders.

“More than 5 million people Americans have Alzheimer’s, a number that is expected to triple as baby boomers age. We do not have a cure, but we do know there are actions people can take to improve the quality of life with Alzheimer’s," said Nicole McGurin, Director of Family Services at the Alzheimer's Association, Massachusetts and New Hampshire Chapter.

The discussion will cover resources and medical and non-medical treatments for those with memory loss.

Alzheimer's Association

The Alzheimer's Association has regional offices in Springfield, Raynham, and Worcester, MA as well as Bedford, NH. The Alzheimer Association provides services and programs for those with Alzheimer's family and professional caregivers in the form of support groups.
