Blue Cross Blue Shield of RI to Host ‘Nutrition 101’

Saturday, December 11, 2010

'Tis the season to make merry with food and drink and while there's nothing wrong with that, it's also a perfect time to get some free professional advice on good nutrition.

Free event, public invited

To that end, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) will hold a free Nutrition 101 event on Tuesday, December 14 from 9:30 to 11:30 am and 12 to 2pm at Dorcas Place, 220 Elmwood Ave, Providence. The event is free and open to all members of the public.

Too much information can be confusing

"Good nutrition is a key component to leading a healthy lifestyle," said a spokesman for Blue Cross Blue Shield. "But there is an abundance of information available that can be overwhelming and confusing."  A certified health educator will be available during the BCBSRI event to answer any questions related to good nutrition. Additionally, attendees will be provided with tips on how to easily improve their diet, as well as an opportunity to participate in valuable hands-on nutrition demonstrations.

No previous event registration is required to attend the session. As schedules are subject to change, please visit Community Events Calendar on BCBSRI.com for updates.
