Excuses, Excuses, Excuses…
Don't wait until next Monday…OR…for your kids to get older…OR… for the New Year…OR… Forget it! I’m not buying it and no one else is either. Buck up and make a start now. I remember hearing a presenter at a workshop say that doing things that give instant gratification such as eating tasty junk food, hitting the snooze button, pouring that second drink, are the things that are going to ruin your attempt at doing something good for yourself.
It’s often the tension and anticipation you experience by inaction that is the most stressful. Once you begin something it gets to be part of your routine and you will achieve positive results. All that angst you put yourself through, won’t be there anymore – it will be replaced by a sense of control over your life. Once you change your mindset, and start recognizing that you can do something as long as you lose the excuses, self-improvement becomes attainable. A little positive mindset, guidance, hard work, and discipline will go a long way, and within a few months your path to health and fitness will not be a dream, it will be right there, right in front of you.
Really think you can get great Abs in 7 Minutes?
But why aren’t more people fit and healthy if that’s all it takes? It’s EASIER not to be. Today’s society is used to taking the easy way out. Planning your meals and getting your sweat on is a chore, and requires planning and discipline.
Sitting around and eating from a drive thru, does not. Marketing gimmicks thrive on this attitude, always offering something quicker and faster. 7 Minute Abs is a perfect example of trying to brainwash people into thinking that if you do something for a few minutes a day, you will achieve positive results. Steve Jobs said: If you look deeper into people you thought were overnight successes, you will realize that it didn’t really happen overnight. The same goes for all those great-bodied spokespeople for products. They didn’t sculpt them overnight.
The defeatist mindset and the “I can’t” attitude have to go. Think about it a little more. If another human being can do it, so can you. Nothing is impossible if you put your mind into doing something. Just because you are not good at something, make it a goal to get good at it.
I feel as though I am a great trainer, but not so good at technology and business, but I knew if I wanted to become more successful in life, I need to get better at both, so I took the chance and opened a Fit Body Boot Camp and training facility. I looked at other people doing it, and figured if they are doing it, so can I. If I tossed my hands in the air and said, “I can’t”, it would never have happened. I hear it all the time from successful people that if you wait around for the perfect time, you will be waiting a long time if not forever.
What’s the perfect time?
I know it gets intimidating, and scary at times, but there are ways around that. Hire a coach or find someone to do it with you. At my facility, you will have both. I’m here, personally, as your coach, and there’s a roomful of people around you with the same intentions.
With my franchise I get the same kind of help. There are coaches I can talk to, and getting together with others where everyone has the same goal of helping people get fit and healthy, and becoming a successful business is definitely motivating and helpful. Everyone has the ability. First realize the problem then take action. Do not wait for that perfect time because YOU KNOW it will never come. The perfect time is now – today – this minute. What will you do with it? Live and make yourself better today. Remember – no excuses!
