Kent’s Sandra Coletta Corporate Chair of LLS’s 2011 Light the Night Walk

Monday, March 28, 2011

Sandra Coletta, President and CEO of Kent Hospital in Warwick, is lending her support to a major fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS).

Coletta has accepted the volunteer position of Corporate Walk Chair for LLS's Light The Night Walk 2011 in Cranston, to be held in October. “I have experienced the loss of close friends to blood cancers and as a hospital administrator I understand the importance of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to the patients and families they serve,” she said. Bill Koconis, Executive Director of LLS added, “Sandra Coletta is bringing her expertise and enthusiasm to Light The Night as we bring the Walk to a new location; and with her help 2011 will be a banner year for this fundraiser.”

Coletta's long ties to health care in Rhode Island

Prior to her current appointment at Kent Hospital, Coletta served as COO of The Miriam Hospital, was Lifespan’s Senior VP for Systems Development and Integration and held other high level positions at Lifespan. Mrs. Coletta holds a bachelor’s degree from Providence College and an MBA from Bryant University.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night Walk funds lifesaving research and support for people battling cancer. Friends, families and coworkers form fundraising teams and millions of consumers help by donating at retail outlets. These efforts culminate in inspirational, memorable, evening Walks in over 200 communities each fall across North America. Two Walks are held in Rhode Island, September 24, 2011 is the date for the Newport Walk at Salve Regina University and October 1 is the date for the Cranston Walk in Garden City. Both Walks begin at 5:00 pm with registration, food, music and fun.
