Thirty-seven physicians representing 15 specialties at Women & Infants Hospital have been named to the list of U.S. News Top Doctors.

According to U.S. News & World Report, the Top Doctors differs from U.S. News rankings like Best Hospitals, Best Diets, and Best Colleges in that no single cardiologist, oncologist, or other specialist can be the No. 1 doctor for all patients with heart disease, cancer, or any other medical condition. Rather, the Top Doctors is a data-rich directory of excellent doctors, coupled with sophisticated searching and sorting tools, to help each consumer find the doctor who is right for his or her needs.

The goal of the U.S. News list is to help guide consumers to top specialists and primary care doctors in their area. The doctors on the list are chosen based on recommendations from their medical peers who view them as being “worthy of referral.” The list, which can be found online at usnews.com, was developed in collaboration with Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., publisher of America’s Top Doctors® and other guides, and was built upon data from Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors™.
