5 Live Music Musts: Friday, October 25th

Just one week after Pearl Jam rocked the DCU, Phish arrives in Worcester.

Spooky sounds abound this week in the area and vicinity…

Mondo Zombie Boogaloo

First up, our “Boston Area Show of the Week” brings us to The Sinclair in Cambridge tonight. Three incredible roots/rock/surf bands, Los Straitjackets, Southern Culture on the Skids, and The Fleshtones present the Mondo Zombie Boogaloo. This line up might simply be the most fun ever! The 18+ show starts at 9PM – tickets are $29.55.

Phish

Phish fans unite. The Vermont-based jam band is in town tonight and tomorrow at the DCU Center. It’s been a big month there – these shows come a week after Pearl Jam rocked the house. There are a few tickets left at $78 – get them fast as these shows are expected to sell out. And don’t forget the post-Phish party at thePalladium with Dead Sessions on Friday and Kung Fu on Saturday.

Steve Forbert

Sunday night in Shirley, the Bull Run has Folk-Rocker Steve Forbert on his “Alive on Arrival Tour.” Forbert made a lot of noise in the late 70’s and 80’s with his hit Romeo’s Tune. He’ll play the 1978 debut album, “Alive on Arrival,” as well as other hits. The show starts at 7:30PM - tickets are $27 in advance. 80’s music fans might also want to check out Richard Marx at the Bull Run on Halloween night!

Deadites

Another popular Halloween show will feature the Deadites tomorrow night at the Lucky Dog Music Hall. Opening acts include TEEEL, Beaver Mc D vs. Captain Insidious, Day Twelve, Anarchy Nation. The self described “world’s finest monster hunting electronic band” advises you come dressed in costume and ready to party! The music begins at 8PM – check the venue for details.

Winery Dogs

Another great Halloween show is happening in RI next Thursday, October 31 – the actual night of Halloween. Head to Pawtucket, where the Winery Dogs will be rocking out at the Met. Tickets are $35 in advance, $37 day of show. Joining the Dogs at the Met will be special guests the SixxiS. Doors at 7PM, show begins at 8PM.
