Tuesday, January 04, 2011
This Saturday, January 8, Edge Infinity Studios will be casting for its upcoming production, Worm-Free Society, a short narrative sci-fi film. It's a 1984-themed short, inspired by Brazil and A Clockwork Orange. It is director Rajah Samaroo's tenth film, and will be produced for festival distribution.
Are you what they're looking for?
Edge is casting for the following roles:
NORMAN - Age: 25-35. A blue-collar worker, scraggly but otherwise mundane. He is the protagonist of the film.
LOGAN - Age: 20-25. Logan is the President of the research firm in which Norman and Sage are employed. He is charismatic, authoritative, and driven. ***There is no required height for this role, but the taller, the better.***
FEMALE CLERK - Age: 20-35. Minor role.
FEMALE PERFUME MODEL - Age: 18-30. aoPERSUASION is a perfume referenced in the story. Need a model for a still and live-motion photoshoot for a Victoria Secret looking ad campaign.
The plot
A researcher for an independent firm (NORMAN) finds tiny green glow worms crawling around his workspace. Upon closer inspection, he finds that they have been entering his body and suspects they are to blame for his recent changes in behavior. He seeks help, only to find his co-worker (SAGE) has long since accepted their presence.
The film is scheduled to shoot for two weekends in early March. Actors will receive two passes to the pre-screening, as well as a stipend for gas (due to Festival rules, producers cannot distribute copies of the film to actors). Non-SAG actors preferred but all actors will be considered.
Date/Time: 1:30pm to 4 on Saturday, Jan 8th
Location: The Rhode Island Film Council offices near the Gamm Theatre, 172 Exchange St, Pawtucket, Rhode Island
