Fit for Life: Got Drive?
Saturday, September 06, 2014
What is DRIVE, and how do you get it?
D-esire: You need to have this first. You can't pick a task out of a hat and expect to excel at it. If your parents forced you to play sports, and you had no desire to, you would lack internal drive and probably not be very good at it. The same goes for your health; if you have no desire to improve it, you won’t.
R-egularity: You won't become a real estate top producer if you only seek listings once in a while. You won't get in the best shape of your life after one workout or one day of eating healthy; you won't be a good hitter if you hit the batting cages once a week. You need regularity, and it takes drive to do something over and over again.
I-ntensity: Do something without intensity and the results will be uneventful. Train without intensity and chances are that you will stay the same. Play football without intensity, and your team will lose. It is the people with lackluster attitudes and lack of intensity that usually are not at the top of their game, because intensity feeds drive.
V-ision: is a necessary component to all success, because with out it, you will have no direction, and without direction having drive is useless. If you start working out and do not visualize what you want to look like, you probably will lack the intensity and desire to get you there. If you start a construction project without a vision, you will be spending a lot of money on changes, until you get it right. Start anything without a vision and you probably won't finish.
E-xecute: when you have all the other components, you are more likely to execute the goal at hand. Without execution, you will have nothing. Thinking about a career move won't make it happen. Talking about opening a business will not put food on the table. Trying to eat better will not get you fit and healthy - doing it will. Everything is talk and thoughts until something is executed and put into play.
So what separates us as humans? Why are some strong and some weak? Why are some followers, and some leaders? Why are some employed and some not? What creates different classes in this world, weather it be income or weight? DRIVE!!
