Nominee: Jon Hamm (Nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series)  

Rhode Island Connection: Member of the cast of the show Providence in 2000

Further connections: Actor Christopher Stanley (Henry Francis) was born and raised in Providence

Modern Family (Outstanding Comedy Series)

Nominee: Julie Bowen (Nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series)  

Rhode Island Connection: Attended Brown University

The Office (Outstanding Comedy Series) 

Rhode Island Connection: Lead actor John Krasinski graduated Brown University, brother of GoLocalProv co-founder Paul Krasinski

Glee (Outstanding Comedy Series) 

Rhode Island Connection: Fit & Fresh plastic containers made by RI's MEDport, is featured throughout the show and the product was developed by Chuck Miga, Larry Wesson and Brian Carey.

The Simpsons (Outstanding Animated Series)

Rhode Island Connection: Writer & producer Ian Maxtone-Graham graduated Brown University (and is rumored to be the writer that writes all the Ivy League dissing comments)

The Cleveland Show (Outstanding Animated Series) 

Rhode Island Connection: Creator and voice actor Seth McFarlane graduated Rhode Island School of Design. Also, the series focuses on the character of Cleveland and his family as he moves from Rhode Island to Virginia

Too Big To Fall (Outstanding Movie) 

Nominee: James Woods (Nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in Miniseries or Movie)

The Amazing Race (Outstanding Reality Competition)

Rhode Island Connection: The Amazing Race Season 16 Winners: Dan and Jordan Pious, are from Rhode Island
