NEW: Up to 10” Snow Possible in Worcester Saturday—Winter Storm Warning Issued

Worcester and Central Massachusetts could be facing as much as ten inches of snow on Saturday.

The National Weather Service issued the following warning on Friday.

...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM SATURDAY TO 7 AM EST
SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Rain changes to heavy wet snow. Total snow accumulations
  of 6 to 12 inches. Highest of the accumulations expected in the Worcester
  Hills at elevations over 1000 feet. Winds gusting as high as 45
  mph.

* WHERE...Northern Worcester MA, Southern Worcester MA and
  Northern Middlesex MA Counties.

* WHEN...From Saturday morning through Saturday night.

* IMPACTS...The wet snow may result in numerous power outages with
  some downed trees if the higher snow totals are realized.
  Travel could be very difficult.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
