Monday, May 18, 2020
At about 1 AM, officers observed a pick-up truck traveling east on Grafton St at a very high rate of speed. The officers attempted to pull over the vehicle, but the driver of the pick-up truck drove away in an attempt to evade police, according to Worcester Police.
After a brief vehicle pursuit, the operator of the pick-up truck turned on to the dead-end portion of Fairmont Ave, and police were able to stop the vehicle.
According to Worcester Police:
The operator of the truck, Jordan Dyer, twenty-four-years-old of June St, was placed under arrest for failure to stop for police. Two passengers, Fitzroy Ball, twenty-two-years-old of Vinton St, and Kelvin Verde, twenty-one-years-old of Mason St, were removed from the vehicle. Officers noticed a pair of illegal brass knuckles near the front armrest. A search incident to arrest revealed a black handgun under the driver’s seat, crack cocaine, marijuana, a digital scale, and cash. No one in the vehicle had a license to carry firearms, and the officers ran the handgun through CJIS and found out that it had been reported stolen.
Jordan Dyer was charged with Failure to Stop for Police, Speeding, Carrying a Dangerous Weapon, and Possession of a Class B Substance. Fitzroy Ball was placed under arrest and charged with Carrying a Dangerous Weapon and Possession of a Class B Substance with intent to Distribute. Kelvin Verde was placed under arrest and charged with Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Receiving Stolen Property under $1200, and Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card. They will all be arraigned.
