NEW: Worcester Magazine Office Up for Rent

Friday, March 29, 2013

According to a local post on Craig's List, the office space of Worcester's alternative weekly, Worcester Magazine, is up for rent in the Canal District.

When asked about details on the move, Worcester Magazine's publisher, Kathy Real, said in an email, "Much to our surprise, we saw it as well. But we love it here - Worcester that is!"

"We were even more surprised to see the ad. Our intention at this point wasn't to move," she said. "If anything we’ll end up growing in the next year."

Real explained that the publication is on a month-to-month lease of the space, and that while she hasn't spoken with the landlord yet, she assumes that the third and fourth floors are open for rent to keep options open. Real said that she loves the Canal District, and that if the publication is forced to move out, they have all intentions of staying in the area.

The property, 97 Water Street, is listed on the popular online classified page. Worcester Magazine's office is located in the same building at 101 Water Street.

John Giangregorio is listed as the entry’s contact. Giangregorio is part of Three Gs Enterprises, located at 152 Millbury Street in Worcester, and is also President of the Canal District Business Association. Giangregorio sits on the boards of Preservation Worcester and the Worcester Convention and Visitor Bureau, and also serves on the steering committee of Citizens for Business and as representative for the Canal District on the Mayor's Small Business Roundtable.

According to online real estate records, Giangregorio is the trustee of the property, which has a valuation of $683,000.00

The Craig’s List post lists $4750 / 6200 square feet of property. Currently, Worcester Magazine uses one of the two floors for sale.
