Green-Rainbow Activist to Go on Trial Monday for Criminal Trespassing
Saturday, April 11, 2015
Factor has pled not guilty to the charges, believing that defending the forest was "of absolute necessity." According to a statement, a Pennsylvania developer was cutting down the Silver Maple Forest to build a 298 unit housing complex and a parking lot with 500 spaces.
Factor states that the necessity is that Silver Maple Forest is one of the last forests left in the metro-Boston Area and that "one developer’s wish to profit should not trump the rights of communities to have autonomy over their ecosystem and their own well being.”
The trial is scheduled to be held at 9 AM on Monday at Cambridge District Court in Medford.
