Obama to Fly into Worcester Airport for Worcester Tech Graduation

Thursday, June 05, 2014

Air Force One will be touching down in Massachusetts next week, but not in Boston as most would expect.

Next Wednesday, President Barack Obama will be flying into the Worcester Regional Airport when he visits the city to deliver the commencement speech at Worcester Technical High School.

"I think it is going to be a great day in the history of the city of Worcester and a great day in the history of this airport to be able to welcome the President of the United States here,” said Massport CEO Thomas Glynn. “It's going to be a very significant day.”

In addition to Air Force One, the support planes that fly alongside the President will be landing at the Worcester Regional Airport, according to airport officials. Details of the various security measures regarding the President’s visit including road closures are expected to be announced in the next few days.
