Worcester Police Arrest Man That Robbed Honey Farms With Syringe

David Cardwell, 39, of Worcester was arrested on Saturday, July 8 after Worcester police received a tip that he was panhandling on the I-290 near Vernon Street. He was charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (syringe) and Armed Robbery.
According to police, Cardwell is homeless.
Original Incident
On Thursday, July 6, at approximately 4:09 a.m., Worcester Police responded to the Honey Farms Market located at 304 Belmont Street for a reported armed robbery. Responding police were told by dispatchers that Cardwell had armed himself with a syringe.
Upon the officer's arrival, they met with the 26-year-old male victim/clerk. The clerk told the officers that Cardwell entered holding a syringe and demanded a pack of cigarettes and money from the cash drawer.
He took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the area on foot.
There were no injuries reported.
