Worcester Police Investigating Stabbing Death in Crystal Park

Sunday, October 04, 2015

Just after 11 p.m. on Saturday night, the Worcester Police responded to a stabbing at the entrance of Crystal Park.

The victim was awake and alert but having trouble breathing when authorities arrived. He was transported to a nearby hospital by Worcester EMS and rushed into emergency surgery. At approximately 1:47 a.m. on Sunday, the victim died as a result of his injuries. The victim's name is not being released until family members have been notified.

According to the Worcester Police Department, the victim was last seen walking in the park with three other people, two females and one male. He was found a short time later lying on the sidewalk.

A witness at the park's entrance said they paid little attention to the group as they entered the park, and was not able to identify or describe the other three people in the group.

This investigation is ongoing. Police are still trying to identify a motive and the circumstances leading to the stabbing.
