Friday, November 14, 2014
As predicted by GoLocal Worcester MindSetter Paul Giorgio earlier this week, elected to the committee is former Worcester City Manager Mike O'Brien, who will serve as Co-Chair of the State of the State Committee.
O'Brien, current Executive Vice President at Winn Companies, spent nine years as Worcester's City Manager. "Mike is certainly a valuable asset to any Governor. His public service is his great strength," said Connie Lukes, former Mayor of Worcester and current Worcester City Councilor. "Central Mass. is going to have a voice in the Governor's office, and is really becoming a political machine."
Joining O'Brien on the State of the State Committee as Co-Chairs are Linda Carlisle, former Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Social Services (DSS), and Richard Taylor, current chairman of the Taylor-Smith Companies.
Rounding out the transition team are Human Resources Co-Chairs Deb Hicks and Dan Henry, Sr., Better Government Co-Chairs Stephen Goldsmith and Steve Poftack, Community Co-Chairs Robert Lewis Jr. and Chrystal Kornegay, and School Co-Chairs Marty Meehan and Beth Anderson.
The Healthcare Co-Chairs are Deb Enos and Keith Hovan, and the Jobs and Economy Co-Chairs are Jay Ash, Karen Kaplan, and Roger Crandall.
Jobs And The Economy:
According to a press release from the Baker-Polito Transition Committee, Polito said, "The transition leaders will be vital to our efforts in assembling the best possible team to carry out the administration's goal: making Massachusetts great everywhere."
