38th Annual Tribute Road Race Set for May 7

Tuesday, April 12, 2016

The Tribute Road Race is undergoing preparations for its 38th running to be held on May 7 at 11 a.m. in Clinton, Massachusetts.

The race is on a 5 mile course and the race is a staple to many people in the running community.

The 38th Tribute Road Race

The year's race starts and ends at Clinton's Church Street and is expected to include about 300 runners, which it does early.

This year's race pays tribute to Judy McGrail and Brian and Irene McNally. The three are being honored for their commitment to the youth of the area and their hours of volunteer service.

One change being made is that the post race ceremony, which will be held at the Historic Strand Theater. The awards, raffle, and after race celebration will all be held there.

“The Strand is right on High Street and is the perfect venue for our post-race event. As is customary, a special raffle is planned during the post-race ceremony and all runners are automatically entered,” said Frank Hewitt, co-race director.

The Awards

Race awards are given in a number of categories, including Veterans, Masters, Seniors, Juniors (14 & under), Juniors (15-19) and open winners. Free Running-style T-shirts are also provided to the first 200 registrants.
