Belichick’s Legendary Discipline May Be Critical to Patriots Winning By Keeping Players Healthy
Wednesday, September 30, 2020
This week two NFL teams — the Minnesota Vikings and the Tennessee Titans were forced to shut down their facilities due to their teams getting hit with infections.
It is unclear if the teams will be able to play their next game.
According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the Tennessee Titans had three new player positives and five new personnel positives for COVID-19. Since they played at the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, both teams suspended all in-person club activities on Tuesday.
The Vikings have not reported any positive tests as of Tuesday night.
The NFL does not have a bubble program like the NBA and NHL have implemented.
Some former Patriot players after leaving the Patriots have criticized Bill Belichick for his tough tactics, but those regiments may be critical to keeping the Patriots healthy.
Notre Dame football has also been hit with an outbreak.
After an unscheduled week off due to positive tests among their players, Notre Dame football provided a coronavirus testing update on Monday afternoon.
According to the university, it administered 273 COVID-19 tests to Notre Dame players last week, of those 273 tests, 18 players tested positive for the virus.
Seven of those players who tested positive were already in quarantine after being identified as at-risk through contact tracing.
In total, 25 Notre Dame players are in isolation, with 14 others in quarantine after being identified as close contacts. That equates to 34-percent of their entire roster.
It is unknown when Notre Dame will play again.
