Brown’s Buddy Farnham Signs With the Patriots

Tuesday, May 04, 2010

Former Brown University stand-out WR Buddy Farnham has been signed as an undrafted free agent by the New England Patriots.  The team made the official announcement earlier today after Farnham spent the weekend participating in the team’s rookie mini camp.

The 6-0, 185 pound Farnham was named both the Ivy League and New England Player of the Year in 2009.  In just 10-games he managed to grab 74 receptions for 1,003 yards and 11 touchdowns.  For his career, Farnham tallied 229 receptions (6thin Ivy League history) and 2,895 receiving yards (7thin Ivy League history).

Signing with the Patriots completes a New England football trifecta of sorts for Farnham.  He played his high school football at Andover High School in Andover, Mass.  From there he followed in the footsteps of his father and uncle by attending Brown.  Now he plays for the NFL team he grew up rooting for – the New England Patriots.

Farnham possesses many similarities to another former Brown football great – WR Sean Morey who currently plays for the Arizona Cardinals in the NFL.  His unparalleled work ethic, talent, high football IQ and humility are all in line with Morey whom he idolized as a youth.
