Celtics Set To Begin Pre-Draft Workouts

Friday, May 30, 2014

The 2014 NBA Draft draws closer and closer for the Boston Celtics and their pre-draft preparation is in full swing. Although the Celtics are likely out of the running for players such as Jabari Parker, Andrew Wiggins and Joel Embiid they still have a great number of options in the deep draft class.

It has been reported by multiple outlets (First by Baxter Holmes of the Boston Globe) that Parker, Embiid, Wiggins and Dante Exum will all not workout with the Celtics as they expect to be drafted before the 6th overall pick.

Although these potential lottery picks will not be working out for the Celtics, reports indicate that projected lottery picks such as Marcus Smart, Julius Randle, Noah Vonleh and Aaron Gordon are all expected to work out for the Celtics.

Along with these reported future workouts the Celtics have been busy scheduling other players. The Celtics are scheduled to welcome in T.J. Warren, Cleanthony Early, KJ McDaniels, Kyle Anderson, DeAndre Daniels and PJ Hairston to Boston for a workout.

With all of these workouts, it is not out of the realm of possibility that the Celtics stay put at the 6th pick and look to rebuild through the draft, despite rumors of possible trades.
