Bravehearts Release Schedule, Futures League Makes Changes

Tuesday, December 16, 2014

The Worcester Bravehearts Futures League baseball team has released their 2015, 56 game regular season schedule.

The Bravehearts Schedule

The Bravehearts, the defending Futures League champions, open their season on Thursday, June 4 on the road against the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. The Bravehearts home opener is scheduled for Friday, June 5 against those same Dirt Dawgs.

The regular season ends on Sunday, August 9 on the road against the Blues and the Futures League playoffs are set to begin on August 10.

All Monday through Saturday games will  have a first pitch time of 7:05 p.m. except for June 9 and July 28. First pitch for those games will be at 11:05 a.m.

All Sunday games have been moved to 5:05 p.m. this season, three hours later than last season.

The Bravehearts will once again be competing in the FCBL's West Division.

League Changes

In 2015, the Futures League has made two major changes, one to the schedule and the other to the playoff format.

This season, the league is going with an unbalanced schedule, meaning teams will play more games against division rivals. So for the Bravehearts, that means eight games against Wachusett, Torrington and Pittsfield and ten games with the Bristol Blues, an expansion team.

The playoff format will also be changed this season. This year, eight teams will qualify for a single - elimination bracket style tournament. Division winners are guaranteed a spot and the next six spots will be given to the teams with the next best records.

There will be two rounds of single elimination before the best of three championship series begins on Thursday, August 13.

Get Tickets

Season tickets and flex packs to see the Worcester Bravehearts are on sale now and you can purchase them by calling the box office at 508-438-3773. Single game tickets will go on sale in April.
