NEW: Former Patriot Bruschi Suffers Stroke on 4th of July

Bruschi previously suffered a stroke in 2005, shortly after the Patriots won the Super Bowl.
Bruschi’s family issued the following statement through the Tedy’s Team Twitter account.
“Yesterday afternoon, Tedy had a stroke, known as a TIA. He recognized his warning signs immediately: arm weakness, face drooping and speech difficulties. Tedy is recovering well, and would like to thank the nurses, doctors, and staff at Sturdy Memorial Hospital for all they have done. Tedy and his family thank you for your ongoing encouragement, and Kindly ask for privacy at this time.’
Bruschi with Patriots
In 13 seasons with the Patriots, Bruschi helped the team to three Super Bowl championships.
He recorded 1,063 tackles, 30.5 sacks and 12 interceptions in his career.
He is in the Patriots Hall of Fame.
