With only one week left in the regular season, the standings have seen a major shake-up. Algonquin has shot to the top of the rankings following wins over last week's No. 1 Westborough and No. 4 Wachusett. Northbridge has also moved up the Power Pack by outscoring their opponents 40-2 in their last six games. With that said, lets take a look at the new Power Pack for Central Massachusetts girls soccer.

10. Holy Name

Record: 9-2-2, 2-0-1

Last week: No rank

Last game: Win 8-0 at St. Bernard's

Next game: at St. Peter Marian

 

Holy name cracks the Power pack following a huge 8-0 win at St. Bernard's. Their stifling defense has led them to their solid record, and with three games left, they have a good chance to rise up the rankings.

9. Auburn

Record: 10-3-1, 9-2-1

Last week: No. 9

Last game: Win 4-1 vs. Uxbridge

Next game: at Tantasqua

Auburn continues their solid play. A classic "trap game" lies ahead of them at Tantasqua before hosting (4) Wachusett next week in their regular season finale.

8. Nipmuc

Record: 11-2-3, 7-2-1

Last week: No. 8

Last game: Draw 1-1 at Douglas

Next game: at (3) Westborough

Nipmuc had a bit of a stumble at Douglas but came away with the draw. They travel to (3) Westborough for a huge Central Massachusetts clash. They then have to host (5) Northbridge to close their season. Wins in both could shoot Nipmuc up the rankings.

7. Littleton

Record: 11-2-3, 7-2-2

Last week: No. 6

Last game: Win 4-0 at Ayer Shirley

Next game: vs. Gardner

Littleton fell a spot, but it was not due to bad play. They continued their solid play, staying unbeaten in three straight. They wrap up their regular season with back-to-back games this week.

6. Sutton

Record: 13-1-2, 8-0-1

Last week: No. 5

Last game: Win 5-0 vs. Hopedale

Next game: vs. Whitinsville Christian

Sutton also dropped a spot despite a win, they can thank Northbridge for that. Their defense continues to dominate, giving up less than one goal per game.

5. Northbridge

Record: 14-0-2, 13-0-2

Last week: No. 7

Last game: Win 5-2 vs. (10) Millbury

Next game: at (8) Nipmuc

Northbridge is the team on the rise in the Power Pack. Their dominant offense and lock-down defense has them on the move by outscoring opponents 40-2 in their last six games.

4. Wachusett

Record: 9-2-6, 6-2-2

Last week: No. 4

Last game: Loss 3-2 at (1) Algonquin

Next game: vs. Auburn

Wachusett proved they are one of the top teams, even in defeat. They battled (1) Algonquin to the end and came up just short. They have to take care of business against Auburn or risk being overtaken by Northbridge.

3. Westborough

Record: 12-1-2, 8-0-0

Last week: No. 1

Last game: Win 6-1 vs. Hudson

Next game: vs. (8) Nipmuc

Westborough suffered their first loss on the season to new No. 1 Algonquin at the end of last week, dropping them two spots. They continue to dominate most opponents but that one loss could have done-in their stellar season.

Record: 12-1-4, 6-1-3

Last week: No. 2

Last game: Win 5-0 vs. Shrewsbury

Next game: at Shepherd Hill

Nashoba stays put in the rankings following another solid week. They close out their season by traveling to Shepherd Hill. They will need some help if they want to get to the top spot in the Power Pack.

Last game: Win 3-2 vs. (4) Wachusett 

Next game: vs. Hudson

Algonquin had an amazing week, defeating two of the top-5 teams in the Power Pack. With wins over previous No. 1 Westborough and No. 4 Wachusett, Algonquin earned their way to the top ranking.
