Worcester High School Crew Seeking to Raise $12,000 to Improve Equipment

Monday, March 16, 2015

The Worcester High School Crew Team is hosting "Spring Into Spring," an indoor rowing event to help raise money for the team. The crew team's goal is $12,000.

The money raised at the rowing event will go towards purchasing new equipment, repairing and maintaining current equipment, and to the purchase of varsity jackets for its student athletes.

Participants can compete in the event as individuals or as part of a six person team. The event will be a 2,000 meter course and individuals will be separated into age groups (high school: 1415, 1617, 1819, open: 2025, and masters: 2635, 3649, 5059, and 60 and over).

For team events, the individual times will be combined between the six team members to tally their final score. The team events will be broken into recreational (one row), open (the top 6 will move onto finals), and competitive (the top 12 will move onto semifinals and 6 will move onto finals).

The rowing event will be held on Sunday, March 29 at the YMCA Central Branch at 766 Main Street in Worcester. The cost for individuals to enter before March 21 $35 and $50 after. Team entries are $150. Registration and donor packets are available online at worcrc.com. For more information on the Worcester High School Crew Team, check out their website at Worcestercrew.org.
