Friday, November 15, 2019
“As an educational leader, Clark University strongly believes in increasing the awareness of, and understanding of the policy issues surrounding cannabis that have impacted many Massachusetts communities. To demonstrate our commitment, we are pleased to offer employees who work at Massachusetts municipalities and state organizations the opportunity to earn a Certificate in Regulatory Affairs for Cannabis Control tuition-free,” said John LaBrie, Clark University’s School of Professional Studies (SPS) Dean and Associate Provost for Professional Graduate Education.
The announcement comes as Worcester will soon become home to the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission.
The Course
Clark launched the first-in-the-nation graduate certificate program last summer.
The program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of public policy issues involved in the cultivation, distribution, sales, and regulation of adult-use and medicinal-use cannabis.
The online program, which began this fall, can be completed in two semesters.
Credits for all three of the online courses required for the certificate will be transferrable either to the Master of Public Administration or the online MPA Senior Leadership Program.
Individuals must meet baseline admission standards and possess a bachelor’s degree to be eligible for the tuition waiver. Fees still apply.
