Global Economy Focus of Bryant Financial Forum

Gary Shilling, an expert financial analyst, will present "The Global Economic Outlook” as his keynote speech at the 6th annual Bryant University Archway Investment Fund Financial Services Forum on Tuesday, March 29.

Shilling is respected in the finance world for his outstanding forecasting record, portfolio management, and the column he has written for Forbes magazine since 1983. He also serves as associate editor of Business Economics, the journal of the National Association of Business Economists.

Current Market Trends

The forum will take place on the 29th from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., with Shilling’s presentation beginning at 11:15.

From 9:45-11 a.m., a panel discussion on current market trends will take place. The panel will be moderated by Nicholas Bohnsack  of Strategas Research Partners. Panelists include Robert Covino ’92, CAIA at SSARIS Advisors; Peter Phillips, CFA, CAIA, Washington Trust Advisors; and Christopher Steward, CFA at Pyramis Global Advisors.
 
The forum is presented by Bryant University’s College of Business with generous support from the Providence Society of Financial Analysts, CFA Institute, and Strategas Research Partners. This is the first year that the Providence Society of Financial Analysts has been a part of the annual forum.

Archway Investment Fund

The student-run Archway Investment Fund was established in 2005 to allow students to use their classroom knowledge to research and buy stocks with money given by the Bryant Board of Trustees. The Fund has outperformed its S&P benchmark 80 percent of the time.
