Of the ten public schools with the highest amount of violations in Worcester, eight of them were secondary schools.

A review of all 52 Worcester Public Schools cafeterias over the past four years (2011-2014) has found hundreds of health violations at the city’s public elementary and secondary schools.

Nearly every single one of the violations were abated within weeks of the inspection. However, on multiple occasions throughout schools in the city, food service was stopped and not allowed to continue until the problems were resolved - including evidence of rodent and insect infestation, stoves and refrigerators were not adequately cleaned, broken and hanging ceiling tiles in food prep areas, and, at nearly all the schools, the temperature for the hot water at hand sinks was not at the regulated level of more than 110 degrees.

There are nine schools missing from this report - Gates Lane, Heard Street, Union Hill, Vernon Hill, University Park, and several alternative schools. These schools either had zero violations or are housed within another school building.
