31st Annual MLK Jr. Community Breakfast to be Held at Quinsigamond College

Tuesday, December 15, 2015

Martin Luther King Jr.

Quinsigamond Community College has announced that the 31st annual community breakfast to honor Martin Luther King Jr. will take place on Monday, January 18, 2016 at QCC's Athletic Center located on 670 West Boylston Street in Worcester. Doors open at 7:15 a.m.

This year's Keynote Address will be delivered by Ms. Marie St. Fleur who emigrated from Haiti early in life and graduated from the University of Massachusetts and Boston College Law School. St. Fleur is currently the President and CEO of the Bessie Tartt Wilson Initiative for Children, a nonprofit initiative with the mission to strengthen early education and care for children.

“Quinsigamond Community College is delighted to host the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast as it celebrates its 31st year. We are honored to have Ms. Marie St. Fleur on campus as the featured speaker," said QCC President Gail Carberry.

The theme for this year's breakfast is based on the Martin Luther King Jr. quote "I’m concerned about a better world.  I’m concerned about justice…And I say to you, I have also decided to stick with LOVE, for I know that love is ultimately the answer to mankind’s problem… and I’m not talking about emotional bosh when I talk about love: I’m talking about a strong demanding love…and I say to myself that HATE IS TOO GREAT A BURDEN TO BEAR."

Winning essays submitted by Central MA students on the theme will be announced.
