Ram Pride goes pink at URI

You're back!

It began last week and within a few more days, all of Rhode Island's more than 81,000 college and university students will be back on their campuses, cracking open their books, and getting down to business.

GoLocalProv knows that each school, from Newport's Naval War College to University of Rhode Island, prepares its students with good information about each campus, rules and regulations, and local contact numbers for crucial services like airport shuttles.

What can we do for our thousands and thousands of college students? Show them a little of the state that surrounds them, and that's what today's guides are all about.

Food, fall activities, + more

RI's most colorful mascot: RISD's "Scrotie"

Check out a collection of fall things to do, from College Nights at spots local to your school, to classic RI festivals, to cheap bowling and dinners. All handpicked for college students.

And when it comes to food, where are the best spots for those super late-night eats? GoLocal checked in at major campuses throughout the state for not only the places you need to know about, but college students' favorite dishes, what they cost, and how late each place is open. Meanwhile, if Mom and Dad are still hanging around, take full advantage with our campus-oriented guide to where to "let" them take you to dinner. (Keep this for when they come back at Parent's Weekend...).

How to stay healthy

Are you sleeping enough? Guess what... new research from Brown University says not only are you undersleeping, but not well either. A local researcher has devised a campaign that's working well at other campuses... is it time for you to pay attention?

Speaking of getting enough sleep, we've got a guide to easy tips to stay healthy, particularly if this is your freshman year (yes, there is a Freshman 15). Also, we've got smart tips from financial experts on how to manage your money this year. Plus, we've got the latest tips and advice on how to use social and digital media to improve your academic life.

Keep an eye on GoLocalProv for how your school does in this year's US News & World Reports rankings... we'll be first with the news on all the locals. And we're talking to your admissions officers as well to see how they feel about the enormously powerful rankings.

Welcome back, college students! It hasn't been the same without you.
