DON’T MISS: Siberia Imagined & Reimagined at Museum of Russian Icons
Thursday, August 28, 2014
Rather than examining Siberia through the eyes of tourists and other non-Russian photographers, this collection offers viewers a true insider’s view of Siberia, creating images with depth and variety.
The collection features photographs from 50 photographers, ranging a timespan of more than 130 years and ranging in topics from everyday photos to the bizarre. They include rural and urban scenes, landscapes, native peoples, agriculture and industry, Russian frontier settlements, the Gulag, religion, and the everyday lives of Siberians.
The exhibition was organized by the Foundation for International Arts and Education, a Bethesda, Maryland nonprofit committed to promoting cultural exchange among museums in the United States and the countries of Eastern Europe, Russia and Central Asia.
The Museum of Russian Icons is located at 2013 Union Street in Clinton, Massachusetts. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for seniors 59 and older, $2 for students and children 3-17, and children less than 3 are free.
