NEW: NYLO Hotel Re-Opening August 15

Wednesday, August 10, 2011

One of last year's Pawtuxet River flood victims is back, better than ever, and opening for business next week.

NYLO Hotels announced today that it will officially re-open NYLO Providence/Warwick on Monday, August 15. This follows more than 12 months of reconstruction to the property’s first floor following the state's historic floods in March 2010. The newly restored areas of the unique loft lifestyle hotel in Warwick include the front desk, lobby, meeting rooms, and The Loft – NYLO’s signature ultra-social living area with state-of-the-art business center, library, and stylish bar and restaurant serving sophisticated comfort cuisine.

Back in the hospitality biz

“We are thrilled to be able to officially announce our grand re-opening,” said Michael Mueller, Chief Executive Officer, NYLO Hotels. “2011 has been a great year for NYLO, we’re happy to officially put the flood behind us and we look forward to welcoming back our business and leisure travelers, community partners, and local neighbors, and once again providing them with Rhode Island’s most stylish and affordable accommodations and meetings destination.”

The hotel closed last year after the heavy rains that soaked Rhode Island for weeks in March 2010 forced the Pawtuxet River in Warwick to crest and dump more than four feet of water into the hotel’s first floor. As a result, the hotel experienced extensive damages to its entire first floor.

“This is an exciting time for us as we renew our presence in the marketplace,” said Patrick O’Neil, NYLO Hotels’ Executive Vice President.  “We have a strong team of hospitality professionals ready to get back to work and surpass our guests expectations for high style at an affordable price that is fun and memorable. We’re asking travelers to stay unique and book with us when coming to the Warwick/Providence area. We’re no ordinary hotel, offering an eclectic vibe that’s original with high-end extras and tech-friendly business lodging that’s sociable and fun.”

The first loft hotel in the region

NYLO Providence/Warwick made its debut in September 2008 as the first property in New England for loft lifestyle hotel innovator, NYLO Hotels. The hotel's 163 guest lofts feature 300 square feet of bright, airy living space, with 10-foot-plus ceilings, exposed brick walls and floor-to-ceiling windows.

With operations back online, the hotel has started accepting reservations. NYLO has also named a new leadership team and is expected to hire 20 new employees. To check out the restored digs, go to www.nylohotels.com/warwick or call 866-391-NYLO.
