Cook: Spotted at WaterFire with hunky husband Daniel Gillies

Providence really swiped the celebrity spotlight this week, and the Rhode Island International Film Festival, one of the Top 10 International Film Festivals in the Unites States, was the celebrity driver.

Not only was Rachael Leigh Cook, who starred with Freddie Prinze in She’s All That and formed one-third of the rebooted Josie and the Pussycats, seen at The VETS for the screening of her new film, Broken Kingdom, but she was also seen strolling through WaterFire this weekend, holding hands with her True Blood husband Daniel Gillies, who was also in town for his own appearance at the Festival.

Around the corner on Westminster, director Elfar Adelstein, of the best-short winning film Sailcloth from this year's festival, and his wife, were seen eating at Tazza on Friday. Keeping in the hipster vein, they were also seen at Movies on the Block watching the Mighty Good Boys perform...

You couldn't walk down a Providence street without running into a film or TV star. Federico Castellucio and Paul Sorvino held court at D'vines on Federal Hill, and film heartthrob Rupert Friend, Verizon icon Paul Marcarelli, and cool Parenthood couple Sam and Amber Jaeger were also seen at The VETS and The Paff Theater, for RIIFF events. More sightings at Bravo Brasserie, Pot Au Feu, Sidebar, and Temple lounge for RIIFF afterparties.  A little bit of Hollywood on the Woonasquatucket...

Was he Dance, Dancing, or was it not a Scene, But a Goddamn Arms Race? Patrick Stump, composer, lead singer, and multi-instrumentalist of the hugely popular group Fall Out Boy, and recently famous for his top single “This City”

featuring Lupe Fiasco, was in town at The Met this week. Looks like Stump enjoyed RI: “Had a great time in Rhode Island last night. Now in DC. Big hello and thanks for having me,” Stump tweeted...

South County spotting: Colin Cowherd, high-profile sports personality, was hanging out in style at Ocean House in Westerly this week. Cowherd, who hosts The Herd with Colin Cowherd on ESPN Radio and ESPNU and co-hosts SportsNation on ESPN2 TV, evidently enjoyed the splendor that is the Ocean House. “Luxury meets the beach," he tweeted later. "Nothing like it on East Coast.”

ATTENTION all Real Housewives fans. Seen has found out that Real Housewife of New York City Ramona Singer will be in Newport on Friday to promote her line of Pinot Grigio. Here is her agenda so you don’t miss this hot celeb spotting. First, she'll be at Pier Liquors from 4pm-6pm, signing bottles and providing tastes of her wine. For

more facetime, catch her at several events at the Newport Winefest, such as the "Newport Uncorked" reception on Friday night, the Grand Tasting, Session II 7pm-11pm on Saturday Night, and the Prosecco Brunch on Sunday morning. Happy hunting...

Bill Cosby update... turns out America's beloved TV father who headlined a gala for the Newport Festival Foundation a week ago, was also in Bristol recently, with his wife, Camille, at a private event at Katherine Quinn's home, to benefit the Anthony Quinn Foundation. The Foundation is dedicated to supporting arts education and awarding scholarships to teenagers so that they may attend summer and after school programs within the arts, the kind of cause you often see Cosby supporting...

Wherever Rhode Island’s favorite student James Franco appears, trouble and commotion follow. His second New York solo show, Three’s Company, in which he read from Rob Lowe’s memoir, became quite the drama. Right after the opening, electrical problems turned the show into a technical disaster. Right before the show opened, Franco, apparently scribbled the words “Road Trip” in paint on the screen, twice. Nonetheless, the artist was outrageously successful in accurately portraying the true art in the performance. We’ll see what he stirs up at RISD when he returns, in the upcoming weeks...
