Seen… Sara Bareilles & More Celebs in the 401

Wednesday, April 06, 2011

Seen: You may have heard that pop songstress Sara Bareilles rocked and romanced the house at Lupo's this weekend, but did you know that she also made time in Warwick at Iron Works Tavern at a private party? Yes indeed. The darling of the airwaves sang four songs, including her most-famous "Love Song." Special friends dined on IWT appetizers and took home a love charmed bangle from Alex and Ani. Gracious Sara took questions, posed for pictures, and also treated Rhode Islanders to "King of Anything," "Uncharted," and yes, Beyonce's fierce "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)."

At Lupo's, if you were trying to have a little face-time backstage (always a wonderful Lupo's perk), Bareilles had to take it straight back to her bus, as she's been having a problem this year with stalking. Oh well. If you were at Iron Works, you got all the contact you needed.

Seen: Providence's (and the Wheeler School's) hometown boy Josh Schwartz recently won Hulu’s “Best in Show” poll for his new show, Chuck. Its combination of heart, action, and humor beat out other favorites like

Dexter and Supernatural to win the prize. Chuck is known for having a devoted and active fan base, which helped it clinch the win. I’m sure many Rhode Islanders cast their votes for guy from the East Side… not that the mind behind both Gossip Girl and The OC needed much extra help...

Seen: Johnston’s own Pauly D has a new gig as the resident DJ at Rain nightclub at the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. He was honored to DJ Britney Spears’ surprise concert in Vegas, filmed by MTV for

her special “Britney Spears: I Am Femme Fatale,” which aired on Sunday night. Rumors also abound that rapper Nicki Minaj (who just played at the Dunkin Donuts Center two weeks ago) will be joining Britney on her tour. Pauly D seems to think (and hope) his self-proclaimed friendship with Spears will put him on the ticket as well…
