School Statistics
Wachusett Regional earned this spot in our rankings because of the students’ strong SAT scores. Math seems to be Wachusett’s strong suit; students averaged a 542 on their math scores during the 2009-2010 school year. The state average is 505. It is also the largest school in the top 20 list of best Central Massachusetts high schools with 2020 students. The school’s student to teacher ratio is a little better than the state average of 15. Wachusett has about 14.4 students per teacher.
Student Clubs
Wachusett's Principal, Bill Beando, said they offer a wide variety of course offerings. He is quite proud of the clubs at the school. Beando said, "We have over 60 clubs that our kids participate in. All a kid has to do is come up with an idea and get a teacher to be facility advisor." We have the Mountaineer Volunteers that go around and do community service. They are helping with a food pantry right now."
High School Super Stars
Beando said Wachusett has an award winning art and music program. Several students actually travel to Disney World to perform there each year.
