Worcester Men Arrested For Possession of Heroin in Stolen Vehicle During Storm

Wednesday, January 28, 2015

During Tuesday's state-wide travel ban, two men from Worcester were stopped by Massachusetts State Police troopers on Interstate 495 in Hopkinton.

27-year-old Andrew J. Cormier and 22-year-old Shaun A. Johnson were driving a 2008 Toyota SUV which had been reported stolen out of Lowell. The SUV was stopped around 5:15 PM. Due to the fact that the travel ban was still in effect, the vehicle was easily spotted going southbound on I-495 behind a large group of snow plows.

During the arrest and investigation, both men were found to be in possession of what is believe to be heroin. Cormier, the driver, was charged with violating regulations for a state of emergency, possession of class A narcotic, using a motor vehicle without authority, receiving stolen property, and operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license.

Janson was charged with violating regulations for a state of emergency, possession of class A narcotic, and receiving stolen property.

Both men will be arraigned Thursday morning at Framingham District Court.
