The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for most of the Taunton Forecast Area...excluding Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard-Nantucket-Block Island. The Watch is in effect from 6 pm Sunday through Noon Monday. We are expecting episodes of heavy rainfall during this time. The highest potential is for flooding of Urban and Poor Drainage areas. There is a lesser chance of flooding of the flashier of the small streams in the area. Mainstem rivers are expected to remain below flood stage.

In an effort to galvanize Worcester’s conservative base, a new PAC, aptly named “Activate Worcester” launched on Saturday in a major kickoff event at Carrington Hall with many local conservative politicians speaking to the crowd including Senator Scott Brown. Close to 200 people joining in the upbeat festivities. The event focused on conservatives Republicans and Independents.

Dating back to the 1800s, the craft fair tradition has a long history in Worcester. In 1856, The Women’s Employment Society began teaching craft and incorporating the work of diverse cultures into a program to aid immigrant women in earning a living in their new home.
