“I think it's going to be rocking. This place is going to be obviously going crazy. We have very passionate fans. It's going to be fun. I think we've all been waiting for this. And our fans, too. Our fans have been there the whole year, just like we've been grinding the whole year, and they've been showing up for us and I think they're just as excited as we are. I don't doubt this place is not going to be getting up and going,” said Red Sox ace Chris Sale during his press conference on Monday.
Boston is in the World Series for the first time since 2013, while the Dodgers are in the Fall Classic for the second straight year.
“This is a dream job for me and I know speaking for him (Alex Cora) this is his dream job. So for us to play for a world championship, West Coast-East Coast, Dodgers-Red Sox, I just can't see it getting any better,” said former Red Sox player and current Dodgers manager Dave Roberts.
This is the first time that the Dodgers and the Red Sox are in the World Series together in more than 100 years.
The Red Sox won that series in five games.
