Patriots Cut Tight End Seferian-Jenkins

In a tweet, Rapoport writes, “The Patriots are cutting TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins, source said. He’s taking a step away for a month for personal issues and the team will release him as he does that. We’ll see if he comes back to New England or anywhere.”
About Seferian-Jenkins
New England signed Jenkins o a one-year deal back in April after his option was declined by the Jacksonville Jaguars in February.
Jenkins was not seen at New England’s mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, and missed organizes team activities in May.
In his career, Jenkins has played in 43 games and hauled in 116 catches for 1,160 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Last season, he played just five games with the Jaguars.
Tight End Depth
With Seferian-Jenkins gone, the Patriots tight end depth takes a hit.
In an effort to replace Rob Gronkowski, the Patriots are now left with Ben Watson, Matt LaCosse, Stephen Anderson, Ryan Izzo, and Andrew Beck.
However, Watson will be out for the first month of the season due to suspension.
