Three Holy Cross Football Players Make All-Patriot League Team

Wednesday, November 26, 2014

The Patriot Leagues announced earlier this week that three members of the Holy Cross football team have been selected to the All-Patriot League team by the conference's head coaches.

Senior Jay Knighton, sophomore Peter Pujals and sophomore Jake Wieczorek all received second team honors.

Jay Knighton played in all 12 games this year for the Crusaders on the offensive line and was a part of why Holy Cross averaged 362 total yards and 157 rushing yards on the season. The Crusaders offensive line only gave up 16 sacks on 403 pass attempts this year.

Peter Pujals started all 12 games as the quarterback for the Crusaders and he completed 225 of his 375 pass attemps and threw for 10 touchdowns. Pujals also ran for 705 yards and six touchdowns on the year.

Jake Wieczorek played all 12 games as wide receiver for the Crusaders and led the team with 50 catches for 694 yards to go along with his five touchdowns.

The Holy Cross Crusaders finished the season with a record of 4-8 and a tie for fifth in the Patriot League, finishing 2-4 in conference games.
