Tiger

Breed(s): Domestic Short Hair

Tiger is a one-year-old found in Malden by a nice woman took her into her four-season porch and now she's come to Broken Tail to find a forever home. Tiger is very affectionate and playful outside the cage. Having to be inside a cage is clearly agitating her, but in a home she will do great. For now, the way to her heart is to go slow and offer her food!

Callie

Age: Adult

Breed(s): Labrador Retriever Mix

Callie is a 50 lb. black lab mix that is between 8 and 10 years old. Although this sweet girl is looking for her retirement home, she still has plenty of pep in her step. She is very motivated to please and works hard on her training. She has learned "sit", "stay", how to walk nicely on a leash, and has even learned to ring a bell to let you know when she has to go outside.

She would do best as the only dog in the house and needs a family that will continue to work on her training. With a little patience and a lot of love, Callie will easily overcome her tough past and become the perfect dog for one very lucky family.

Liam

Breed(s): Domestic Short Hair

Liam is sweet cat who also gets along well with other cats. He's just one year old, and is on the smaller side with a beautiful coat that almost looks like a dilute pastel coloring. He loves to play, run around, and explore, and has even climbed a 7-foot ladder to get a better view of things. Liam has tested positive for Feline Leukemia, so he needs either to be in a home with other FeLV positive cats, or the only cat in the household.

Vangie

Breed(s): American Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier mix

Vangie is a sweet 8-month-old pitbull mix who is solid white except for the adorable black speckles on her ears. She was surrendered to us by her owners when they couldn't afford to care for her any more. Vangie previously lived with kids, cats, and other dogs with no issues. She would benefit greatly from some confidence boosting training. A confident dog friend would also be good for her as she really enjoys other dogs. She has already learned sit and she waits patiently for treats. Vangie hasn't been crate trained in the past, but her foster home is working on teaching her to appreciate her crate, and she is also acclimating to a leash very well.

Spencer

Age: Adult

Breed(s): American Shorthair

Spencer is a gorgeous 8-year-old ginger gentleman. He has a lot of dignity except when he displays his vast tummy to the world. He loves scratches, snuggling up to his people, and is very friendly. He gets on well with the dog in his foster home. He'll make a wonderful family cat.

He currently weighs 22 lbs. could lose a few pounds. He has been diagnosed with diabetes and requires insulin shots twice a day, but this isn't as traumatic as it appears. The needles are very thin and he barely notices! We hope that if he loses a few pounds his diabetes will be controlled with a good diet.

PJ

Breed(s): Dachshund/Beagle mix

Meet PJ! PJ weighs about 20 lbs. and is just over a year old. He came to Broken Tail from a shelter where he was nervous around strangers, but he hasn't shown any of those issues in his foster home. PJ already knows how to sit and he has the potential to learn lots of tricks. He would love to go to training classes and even be a possible candidate for agility! PJ would be great with an active family who enjoys going for walks or hikes. He will need daily exercise and just loves his walks and playtime with other dogs, although the dog park is a little too intimidating for him. But he would play with dogs in his foster home's yard all day if he could.

Mr. Clean

Age: Adult

Breed(s): American Short Hair

Trying to find shelter from a storm, Mr. Clean clambered into the ceiling of a launderette and fell through (hence the name). He was taken in by Broken Tail Rescue and had an infected eye removed. Despite all this trauma, he's very sweet and affectionate.

Mr. Clean is a small cat with a lot of personality! He's a vocal little guy who loves ear scratches. He'll jump up to get attention from his foster family and guide your hand to his ears. Double-paws add to his considerable charm. If you want a one-eyed cat wearing boxing gloves, look no further. If you just want a fabulous, affectionate cat, look no further.

Reena

Age: Young

Breed(s): King Charles Spaniel/Dachshund mix

Hi, I'm Reena! I need to get to know you a little before I let you pick me up but, once I trust you, I love you! I get along almost all dogs but would do well with dogs my size or smaller.

I need a home that has an experienced pack leader that can set limits. Like any creative genius, I need structure, discipline, and love. I am doing great with leash training and love lots of short little walks. I am not ready to be given the full run of the house when there is not an adult to supervise me. I am working on my house training skills and I am crate trained. If you work during the day, I will need to be in a confined area like my crate or in a small area with a puppy pad.
