Blackstone Mother Indicted on Two Murder Charges
Wednesday, December 17, 2014
Both Murray and Rivera have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Murray is being held on a $1 million bail and had been charged with fetal death concealment, witness intimidation and permitting substantial injury to a child. The grand jury added the charges of murder after concluding their investigation.
Murray had four children living in the home. Two of the children were suffering from neglect. Authorities also found the remains of three infants in the home. The house was tore down in October.
Rivera was also charged with two counts of reckless endangerment of a child, two counts of cruelty to animals, and one count of cultivation of marijuana. Rivera is being held on bail of $100,000. He said he was living in the basement of the home the remains were found in and knew nothing of what was going on in the house. However, law enforcement authorities argue that he was sleeping upstairs and had full knowledge of the neglected children.
