NEW: 21-Year-Old Worcester Woman Involved in Fatal Car Crash in East Brookfield

On Tuesday afternoon, a 21-year-old woman driving a 2010 Jeep Wrangler was involved in a two-vehicle head-on car crash that left one dead and three hospitalized.

According to Massachusetts State Police, around 3:15 PM, the Worcester woman and another male passenger collided with a 2005 Toyota Sequoia occupied by the driver, a 44-year-old female, and an adult male passenger on Route 49 at Flagg Road in East Brookfield.

The male passenger in the Sequoia was pronounced dead upon arrival of the state troopers. The Worcester woman and her male passenger, and the Barre woman all had to be extricated from their vehicles and transported to UMass Memorial Hospital.

The cause of this crash remains under investigation with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (CARS), the State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and the Office of the District Attorney.  No charges have been filed at this time.  The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending family notification.
