Three Vehicle Crash on I-290 Results in Worcester Woman Life Flighted to UMass

The driver and passenger of the Subaru sustained serious injuries and both were transported by medical helicopter to UMass Medical in Worcester. The driver of the Chevy pickup truck was transported via ambulance to Marlborough Hospital for minor injuries. The tractor-trailer driver was not injured.
For nearly an hour, all I-290 Eastbound lanes were closed due to the accident. Since just after 11 AM, one lane of travel has been opened. The two left lanes remain closed for investiagtion of the crash scene.
"The remaining facts and circumstances of the crash are currently under investigation by troopers from the Holden Barracks. Troop C Headquarters, Troop C Community Action Team (C-CAT), State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section (CARS), State Police Crime Scene Services Section (CSSS), State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section (CVES), Massachusetts Department of Transportation (Mass DOT), Marlborough Police & Fire, Northborough Police," according to a released statement from Massachusetts State Police.
Names are not being released at this time.
