Worcester Neighborhoods with Best Educational Bang for Your Buck
Saturday, July 11, 2015
When young families are in the process of buying their first home, one of the biggest factors of the purchase decision is the quality of public schools in the area. Naturally, parents want to make sure their children are receiving the best education possible.
Intuitively, many Americans would assume that there exists a positive correlation between the quality of public schools and the median home price in a neighborhood. Demand for better teachers and schools should, in theory, drive up the value of homes in the vicinity.
In Worcester, there’s a wide range in the quality of public schools, just as there is in any metropolitan area. What’s interesting in Worcester is that the zip codes inside of the metro area seem to have a stronger positive correlation between public school quality and the median home sale price than most metro areas.
