Worcester Public Schools: 2 Hour Delay on Friday

Thursday, January 29, 2015

Worcester Public Schools will have a two hour delay on Friday due to ongoing clean up of massive amounts of snow on the city's streets and sidewalks and from the impending 3 to 5 inches of snow to come tonight.

The National Weather Service is reporting that overnight into Friday, the city will see 2 to 3 more inches of snow. During the day on Friday, NWS is predicting at least one or two more inches.

From Sunday night into Monday, NWS is reporting that another storm may bring accumulating snow. However, the track of the storm is questionable.

Here is the full report for tonight and Friday from NWS:

THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT. LIGHT SNOW WILL BEGIN ACROSS THE AREA TONIGHT. AMOUNTS OF 1 TO POSSIBLY 3 INCHES ARE FORECAST...HIGHEST OVER THE HIGHER INLAND TERRAIN.

FRIDAY AND FRIDAY NIGHT...PERIODS OF LIGHT SNOW WILL CONTINUE. ANOTHER INCH OR TWO IS POSSIBLE THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT.

FRIDAY NIGHT...WIND CHILLS MAY REACH 15 TO 20 BELOW ZERO ACROSS PORTIONS OF WESTERN AND CENTRAL MASSACHUSETTS. A WIND CHILL ADVISORY WILL LIKELY BE NEEDED.
