Jennithan Cortes to Kick-Off Campaign for District 2 City Council
Monday, June 15, 2015
Cortes is running for the seat that is currently occupied by City Councilor Phil Palmieri. Palmieri is running for an At-Large seat this fall, thus creating an opening for the District 2 seat. Cortes is running against Candy Mero-Carlson, Ana Sequera and Larry Shetler.
In a recent interview with GoLocalWorcester, Cortes said, "In such a large, diverse and robust area, the residents of District 2 have seen a lot of changes over the course of the last decade which have impacted us on a daily basis and I want to ensure that the vision for moving our district forward stays in-line with maintaining the quality of life that our families, friends and neighbors seek. We must support progress but we also need to preserve the core services that the residents of District 2 deserve which include challenges such as; maintaining a safe city, first-rate streets and sidewalks, clean neighborhoods and parks just to name a few."
Cortes' kick-off campaign celebration will take place on June 22 at Padavano's Place at 358 Shrewsbury Street from 6 PM to 8 PM. See flyer below for more details.
