Senator Fattman Appointed to Lead Millennial Engagement Effort

Thursday, February 25, 2016

Senator Ryan Fattman

State Senator Ryan Fattman has been appointed as the Co-Chair of the Millennial Engagement Tour.

“The messaging and goals of the tour will be to have a better understanding of what today’s millennial generation wants and need from their elected officials. After numerous articles about today’s millennial being frustrated with the economy and the nature of the government, it is essential to make sure their voices are heard,” said Senator Fattman.

The Millennial Engagement Tour was recently initiated for individuals of the millennial generation, 31 years old or younger, to collaborate with businesses, elected officials and community leaders from around Massachusetts.

The intent of the tour is to bring younger minds to the table and discuss the driving factor for today's millennial generation.

This week the tour stopped at the Facebook office in Cambridge. The tour will continue on February 29 with a "Twitter Town Hall" at the State House, followed by a roundtable with the Massachusetts College Republicans and Democrats.

Topics up for discussion throughout the tour include making higher education more affordable, social media privacy, and entering into the work force in an increasingly competitive economy.

The tour will continue to go across Massachusetts to conduct a dialogue with millennials from a wide array of backgrounds and geographic areas.
